Zinc’s mission is to help customers protect what matters to them.

Founded in 2004, we are a privately-owned Software as a Service company that delivers trusted security and safety platforms to enterprise and public sector organisations. The business has enjoyed year on year growth, 60+ staff and has a strong UK footprint as well as international reach.

Our growth strategy to date has been focused on client retention and product development as we have aligned ourselves with our clients so that we are informing their roadmap as well as them informing ours. This collaborative approach has led to a number of awards in partnership and application of new technology. As a company, our Synapse product is leading the field of safety and security incident management. We are able to deliver differentiation to our clients across three key sectors – Government, Corporate and Retail.

We are known as leading web technology innovators. We have invested many years into developing our own technology platforms and these now power some of the UK’s largest organisations, Government and SME customers.

The technology division has undergone significant growth in recent years and we see this as being a huge area of further expansion for Zinc moving forward. We have a culturally diverse team with a reputation for using innovative, collaborative working practices; operating in a SaaS environment to provide our market leading Synapse product range that assists organisations in gaining actionable insight, optimising decision making, profit protection, reducing response times, and significantly improving communications between staff and stakeholders.

We have an exciting opportunity for a new role within our Professional Services team as a Project Manager. 

We are looking for an experienced Project Manager to join our dynamic, diverse and growing team. The right candidate will be essential to ensuring that we deliver a world class service to our clients. You’ll become a key player within the team, accountable for delivery performance and customer satisfaction. 

Working for the Head of Professional Services, you will be responsible for the successful implementation of Synapse across a range of different business sectors.

Your key responsibilities will include…

  • Planning and coordinating all aspects of projects from initiation through delivery.
  • Managing project initiation activities including identifying contractual obligations, client needs and goals, existing situation and scenarios, necessary key contacts and access to existing information as needed.
  • Ensuring requirements for internal projects align to operational standards. Developing alternative requirements and documenting exceptions as appropriate.
  • Developing, defining and executing project plans, project scope, activities, schedules, budgets and quotes, and deliverables.
  • Consulting on and applying configuration to new project applications.
  • Interacting with cross-functional teams including offshore development suppliers. 
  • Identifying needed resources for projects, defining and assigning major project roles.
  • Coordinating activities and tasks among project team members, other internal departments and clients or suppliers as needed to meet project goals and ensure project completion is on schedule, within budget constraints and of the appropriate quality standards for the project scope.
  • Assigning and monitoring work of the product team whilst providing support and direction.
  • Interfacing with external clients on technical matters as needed.
  • Managing project risks, issues/problems and activity progress to ensure project goals, e.g, deadline, scope and quality are achieved. Assisting with problem resolution or risk mitigation as needed.
  • Serving as liaison between technical and non-technical teams, internally as well as with clients and suppliers to ensure all project targets and requirements are met.
  • Working with the Head of Professional Services to drive a team culture of empowerment, collaboration and integrity to achieve staff and customer success. 
  • Forecasting and tracking your customer account metrics. 
  • Managing the flow of internal communications, ensuring information is disseminated across the team as appropriate.
  • Aiding the generation of ongoing account revenue and growth of client relationships.
  • Successfully manage the complete project/product lifecycle from initiation to handover to Support.
  • Providing all information required for invoicing projects on a timely basis.

What experience we require…

    • 3+ years of experience working within Project Management or a similar role.
    • Business Acumen / Customer Service Skills
    • Excellent stakeholder engagement at all levels and with third parties
    • MS Office Experience
    • Google Product Experience (i.e. Google Sheets, Google Docs) – Desirable 
    • A flexible and committed approach to success and the ability to apply this in a rapidly changing environment
    • Experience using Jira Cloud – Desirable 
    • Experience in managing offshore suppliers – Desirable
    • PRINCE2 Certified (or equivalent experience)
