The Future, Intelligently Engineered – Zinc’s AI Strategy Unveiled

The Future, Intelligently Engineered – Zinc’s AI Strategy Unveiled

The pace of change in technology, especially Artificial Intelligence (AI), is relentless – and it’s only accelerating. AI isn’t a distant concept; it’s reshaping the way the world works, including how we manage and analyse safety, security, and critical incidents. At Zinc, we’re not standing still. We’re stepping forward with purpose.

Empowering faster decisions, sharper insights, and stronger resilience – responsibly.

We’re proud to unveil our AI strategy – a bold, practical, and secure roadmap that will shape the future of our platform and our partners’ operations. Our AI strategy is designed to enhance every layer of our platform – from simplifying complex data through intelligent summarisation, to empowering users with an intuitive assistant, and ultimately deploying autonomous agents that take meaningful action.

By phasing AI adoption across three strategic pillars – GenAI, AI Assistants, and Agentic AI – we’re not just following the evolution of technology, we’re actively shaping it to deliver smarter resilience, faster responses, and operational excellence for our customers – maintaining a human-in-the-loop for critical decisions.

More than hype or buzzwords, this is about real transformation, delivered in three powerful phases:

Phase 1: GenAI Summarisation (Launched!)

Get ready for smarter insights with less effort. Whether it’s incident reports, task notes, or compliance forms, Zinc will summarise the critical information you need – instantly.

Objective:

Leverage GenAI to automatically summarise incident reports, enabling faster understanding, contextual awareness, and intelligent oversight with actionable recommendations.

Key Use Cases:

  • Executive Summarisation: Auto-generate summaries of incident reports and logs.
  • Advanced Ancillary Incident Data Summarisation
A structured, automated summary that consolidates all supplementary data related to an incident – including all incident report stages, involved individuals (victims, witnesses, offenders), tasks, response forms, uploaded media, notes, notifications (manual & automated), and any linked incidents. This summarisation provides a clear and contextual narrative of the full incident lifecycle, offering rapid situational understanding for investigators, managers, and legal stakeholders. It transforms complex, multi-source data into a coherent, actionable overview – supporting faster case reviews, compliance reporting, and informed decision-making.

Outcomes:

  • 40–60% time savings in incident report reviews and briefings.
  • Enhanced quality and consistency in communications.

Increased user engagement through reduced manual effort. Say goodbye to reading through endless reports, and hello to clarity, speed, and confidence.

Phase 2: In-Platform AI Assistant (In BETA!)

Introducing your new digital team member – our AI Assistant. Ask questions, get data, understand SOPs, or seek advice in real time.

Objective:

Provide users with a conversational assistant to query data, suggest actions, and support rapid decision-making in complex scenarios.

Key Use Cases:

  • Conversational Q&A: “Show me all unresolved incidents in the past 7 days”, “What’s the average response time for site X?”
  • Patrol Report Condensation: Convert raw security patrol data into meaningful narratives for shift handovers and management.
  • Board-Level Insight Briefings: Summarise compliance, threat intelligence, and operational risk trends for dashboards and board reporting.
  • Form & Note Analysis: Extract key facts from unstructured form entries or officer notes.
  • Cross-Analysis: Help identify and suggest linked entities, such as incidents, people, vehicles, or locations, across multiple incidents by analysing structured and unstructured data points.
  • Case Coaching: Suggest next steps based on incident classification and escalation protocols.
  • Data Insights: Surface anomalies, risks, or patterns in operational performance and site activity.

Outcomes:

  • Quick access to answers for key queries from varying stakeholders.
  • Smarter, self-service data access for customers.

Proactive support during incidents and compliance audits. This isn’t just a chatbot – it’s a contextual assistant to help you get under the skin of your data and become more efficient.

Phase 3: Agentic AI (Throughout 2026)

This is where AI starts to take action. From triggering response workflows to monitoring conditions and simulating risk scenarios, Zinc’s platform will support autonomous, real-time decision-making – always with governance, oversight, and auditability.

Objective:

Transition from passive tools to active agents that can autonomously complete tasks, monitor conditions, and optimise workflows based on defined objectives.

Research Areas:

AI-Automate
  • Automated Incident Triage Agent: AI Agent collects data, assesses severity/priority, applies rules, and drafts a pre-filled report or response plans.
  • Customisable SOP/EOP Response Agent: AI Agent to run what-if scenarios (e.g. fire evacuation, power failure, protest escalation) and simulate outcomes.
  • Intelligent Alert Agent: AI Agent that not just sending alerts – the agent tracks responses, read receipts, escalates, and closes loops.
  • Third-Party Data Ingestion Agent: AI Agent for automated ingestion alerting and cross-analysis of external data sources such as weather feeds, threat intelligence feeds, IoT sensors, alarms, BMS, access control logs, and partner APIs. This real-time context strengthens situational awareness and supports intelligent, autonomous action.
  • Automatic Incident/Threat Media Agent: AI Agent that will act as the incident reporter. Understanding & automating the categorisation & reporting from video footage (body cameras or integrated CCTV): and correctly categorising and logging the incident into an organisation’s structures.

Outcomes:

  • Hands-off automation of low-risk tasks.
  • 24/7 intelligent monitoring and action.

Reduced operational drag, enhanced resilience readiness. Agentic AI enables truly predictive, always-on resilience management — so you stay one step ahead.

Why This Matters

This isn’t just a tech upgrade. It’s a mindset shift:

  • From manual reviews to intelligent automation
  • From reactive actions to proactive decisions
  • From siloed insight to shared, systemised intelligence

Whether you’re managing buildings, incidents, teams or technology – Zinc’s AI roadmap means fewer unknowns, faster outcomes, and more time to focus on what matters.

What about risks? We’ve thought about that – deeply. We’ve engineered this to enhance trust, not replace judgement. You stay in control and every step of this strategy is built around security & compliance (GDPR, ISO 27001, role-based controls), transparency (audit logs, source links, AI disclosure) and human-in-the-loop control (AI supports, humans decide).
