Zinc has worked with countless businesses, bringing about digital transformations by providing the resources to transfer their operations to the Synapse digital platform to increase efficiency. Our goal is to be a part of positive progress through innovation and consistent improvement and work closely with our partners and clients to create a technology platform that takes these values into account.
We were delighted to hear that our work with VSG was recognised with an award for ‘Best Use Of Technology’ at the first British Security Industry Association (BSIA) awards on 11th July 2018 in London.
The BSIA Awards were held to celebrate and highlight the incredible achievements in the Security industry, from outstanding bravery to inspiring ideas. Amongst the many nominees were VSG, for their work with the B&Q Crime Centre. They were celebrated for the introduction of an advanced intelligence gathering system that allowed members of staff to self-report criminal activity.
VSG is one of the largest and fastest growing security providers in the UK, employing over 7,500 staff and part of Compass Group, a world-leader in Support Services. We’ve worked with B&Q since 2015 and VSG for nearly 10 years. They wanted an agile platform that allowed security incidents to be quickly reported to the Crime Centre with two-way communication, and the ability to see a deeper level of insight into the way that their locations operated. Synapse allows the Crime Centre to completely customise their application with tools to manage types of incidents, communication rules and access rights specific to locations across the country, providing a powerful engine to run and streamline their operations.
The Crime Centre receive reported incidents that are entered into a secure database with linked information such as offenders, witnesses, vehicles, and supporting evidence straight to the operators. This information is stored and analysed to enable B&Q to monitor incidents, create case files, investigate repeat offenders and organised crime groups, track and recover lost stock, and create a reportable, actionable picture of the way that crime is experienced at each location and across their entire estate. As a result of this technology, B&Q have seen an impressive 50% reduction in stock loss.
There’s nothing the Synapse team like to see more than positive results gained after using our technology. We hope to continue working with VSG and our other clients to reduce crime and improve the way that their businesses operate using actionable insight and intelligent technology. With tailored solutions, you’re sure to achieve the outcome you need.
